Summary: A/U. Emily and JJ are not profilers. They don’t have anything to do with the FBI. They are just ordinary people: a translator and a soon-to-be-doctor. Their ways cross each other’s and we all know what that means: there are no coincidences.

Emily sat in her office when a knock interrupted her typing. It was her colleague, Peter, who was like a brother to the brunette: working 7 years side by side, pulling long hours day by day created a very special bond between them. Peter was always there for Emily and vice versa: they trusted and respected each other.

“Hey, do you want to grab lunch at Guardo’s in 10 minutes?” – asked Peter somewhat out of breath.

Emily looked up at the red haired man and smiled, he was over 40 but he could easily deny 10 years: he was strong, athletic, handsome and had always a toothed smile on his face. Emily was blessed with a friend and coworker like him.

“Sure, meet you in front of the building, I just have to finish this document.” – she eyed her college for a minute and then asked somewhat surprised – “Why is that goofy smile you have now?”

Peter just rolled his eyes and said – “Can’t I just be pleased that I will have a pleasant lunch with my favourite girl, now can I?”

But she wasn’t fooled that easily – “No…you have something to tell…hmm…what is it?”

“Hey, I hate when you do this, reading me like an open book! Okay, okay, I will tell you at the restaurant. Meet you in 10!”

And just like that, Peter was gone. Emily starred after him, murmuring to herself something like “lovesick” and “hopeless” but eventually finished her work, got up and started to meet up with him.

When she spotted Peter at the bottom of the stairs in front of her office building and was just about to say they can go to eat, she realized that he was talking on his phone, so she waited patiently until he was finished.

The next thing transpired so fast, she didn’t have any time to realize what was happening: a boy with a bicycle ran past her so fast, it was only inches that the kid didn’t knock her down but it was just enough that she lost her balance and was immensely swept off of her feet and thus landing on the stairs. Her head met with concrete and it instantly started bleeding. When Peter turned around and saw the little accident, he immediately ran to her and helped her up.

‘You’ve got to be kidding me…this is like what, second time today….arrggghhh..” – a very frustrated Emily said as she tried to stand up.

“Second? Gosh…oh, wait, you are bleeding, God, we should check it out at the hospital…” – a very concerned Peter suggested as he measured the fresh wound on Emily’s head.

“No, no, there isn’t any need to….” – said Emily but as she was on her feet again, she felt suddenly dizzy and had to sit back on the stairs very slowly.

“Okay, maybe you are right…” This day is just getting better and better – though Emily who was a bit disoriented from the impact. She didn’t want to do anything with any hospital. She only wanted her well deserved lunch time and a piece of Sacher cake she thought about ever since they visited Guardo’s the last time.

Fortunately, the bleeding stopped soon after the incident and at the hospital, Dr. Wasgel as his nametag indicated, said that it was just a minor injury, it would heal in a few days or so. To avoid any headaches or dizziness during the next days – because there most possibly will be – he subscribed a few pills, just in case.

Peter and Emily were both relieved by the news and Peter insisted that Emily has to take off the rest of the day to rest. Emily was about to argue with him but then Peter already went a few steps away to call the office about it. The translator just smirked at him, he was always this protective of her and it was something she was very grateful for.

As she was sitting on the hospital bed, suddenly she heard someone saying her name but she didn’t recall who it could be. She searched for the source of the sound and then she spotted a blonde figure just across 4 beds from her.

“Jennifer? – the brunette blinked a few times before she realized that it was indeed the woman from The Coffee House this morning.

“Emily! God, what happened? I just saw you while I was checking on this other patient. Is everything alright?” The young resident was genuinely worried, that was evident in her posture as Emily met her eyes the second time that day. Jennifer immediately picked up the chart which was left at the end of the bed and scanned through the details in seconds. Emily was surprised about the other’s woman concern, it wasn’t like she was hit by a bus but she thought it was part of her job and a natural reaction to help others. Though, Emily felt warmness rushing through her body by this little gesture. She was taken care of.

“Ah, nothing really, some kid thought it would be fun to race on the sidewalk and apparently I was in his way. It will heal soon and now that I took the day off I may even have time to do the laundry.” – a small smile escaped through Emily’s mouth then she continued – “So I guess you work here. Do you feel better now?”

Jennifer was amazed by the brunette, Emily was the one who was injured and still, she asked her about her well being. “Yes, I managed to sleep a bit in the on-call room and now I’m as fresh for” – she took a quick glance at her watch calculating her shift’s end– “ 5 more hours as one can be.” – The blonde fell silent and watched Emily as she answered her. She was glad that she got to see the brunette again despite the unfortunate circumstances. If she was truthful to herself, the encounter with the translator kept her mind busy during the day and she already decided to have coffee the same time next morning at the café, in order to catch a glimpse at the brunette again. She hardly knew the woman but felt that there was a deep and unexplainable understanding between them. She wanted to know Emily Prentiss more thoroughly. Her thoughts were disturbed by a red haired man who was now standing next to Emily.

“Oh, Peter, I would like to introduce you to Jennifer. We’ve met this morning at the café and she works here as a resident. Peter McCoy, Jennifer Jareau. Peter is my college and friend from the office.”

“Ms. Jareau, it’s a pleasure to meet you!” – Peter was grinning widely as he shook the blonde’s hand.

“Likewise! And call me Jennifer. Ms. Jareau is way too official.” – replied JJ with a smile and was just about to ask whether they checked out yet and could help with anything when she heard a nurse calling hear name saying there was a car accident and multiple injuries are coming in.

“I better go now. Take care of yourself! Peter!” – the young woman’s last words were barely audible as she was already running to the entrance with two other doctors in her tail.

Peter was taken aback by Jennifer and he didn’t hide this little fact at all – “She is a hottie! Hey, where have you been hiding her so far? What do you think, would she be up to drink? I have to ask her out. Man…”

Emily eyes grew wide and she slapped lightly Peter’s arm, resulting a ‘hey, what?’ and a raised eyebrow from the man. “Last time I checked, you had a girlfriend who you were pretty much in love with.”

“Okay, let me rephrase: if I didn’t have a wonderful girlfriend at home waiting for me and I wouldn’t be totally in love with her, I would ask the young doc out…I mean wow, men must be knocking at her door every minute. She is stunning!”

The brunette couldn’t help but laugh at her friend’s momentary unfaithfulness, because she knew that Peter was the most romantic and loyal boyfriend a woman could ask for. Though, she couldn’t shake off the feeling what Peter radiated from himself as he was recovering from his previous moment of weakness: utter adoration towards the blonde. Because beyond doubts, Jennifer Jareau was really stunning.

Did you watch the episode?

We got a little insight in Camile Wray’s life (played by Ming-Na) and now we know who is waiting for her back on Earth (a pretty, pretty lady). If you are not familiar with the show and the story, to sum it up, it is about a bunch of people that got stuck on a spaceship and they are trying to find their way home which is not so easy as you can assume. However, with those ancient magic stones they can communicate with Earth by physically taking control of a body of an exact person on the super secret military base…anyway, watch and enjoy the video

Venice – The Series: Season One teaser video

Remember Guiding Light? How about our lovely pairing, Otalia? They are finally back in a web series called “Venice”. Well, not quite them but the two actresses do couple up in the show again and I think we will see them kissing this time…fingers crossed!

The show will start 4th December, only two more weeks! Yay!

What’s new on Arizona and Callie in Grey’s Anatomy

Invest in Love. The whole episode was a big emotional roller coaster and Jessica Capshaw outdid herself! I happened to be more and more in love with her character and if you watched this week’s scenes you will know why.

Quote of the week:

“Arizona: I love you.

Callie: You do?

Arizona: I do.

Callie: I love you too.”

The first clip is from seventh episode, the next two is from the eighth.

“I adore Callie and Arizona’s relationship, in case my other episode reviews haven’t made that abundantly clear. They argue, they make mistakes, and they yell at each other, but at the end of the day, they still love each other, and they’re doing their best. It’s really nice to see a gay relationship on TV that isn’t meant to titillate or shock anyone.”

Jessica Capshaw: Definitely, of course it’s happening. They’re in a committed relationship. It’s like the beginnings of any relationship, but I think they’re very much together and all of that is happening. I’m sure that we’ll have our time.

I’m sure it has happened to you as well when you were looking for something and you ended up getting something entirely different…and in a good way. Last year I wrote a tiny piece about the lesbian cartoon “Jane’s world” and yesterday I wanted to dwell on again this fantastic world and then the idea came up to look for more lesbian cartoons because there must be more out there, right?? So I went ahead and I searched for them and it got me quite a few hours to realise that the lesbian community has quite a few of them on comic pages.

After the cut I listed 10 lesbian comics that I found online and one bonus for all of you, probably you are familiar with it already

1. Jane’s world : “Jane’s World stars the loveable misfit, Jane Wyatt. It’s a comic full of “girl-on-girl action, chicks with guns, a vegan menace, vintage Winnebagos, drag queens and downward career spirals. You know, the usual-for stability-challenged Jane.”

4. Dykes to watch out for (DTWOF): I think I don’t have to introduce this comic strip!

“Since its inception in 1983, Alison Bechdel’s comic strip Dykes To Watch Out For has become a countercultural institution. The strip is syndicated in dozens of newspapers, translated into several languages and collected in a series of award-winning books. Utne magazine has listed DTWOF as “one of the greatest hits of the twentieth century.” And Comics Journal says, “Bechdel’s art distills the pleasures of Friends and The Nation; we recognize our world in it, with its sorrows and ironies.””

When I re-watch the Calzona scenes from the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy, all I can do is smile. Arizona is indeed a “Good man in the storm”! And Jessica Capshaw’s performance was brilliant and so tenderly done! Please, somebody tell me why her character was not in the show earlier???

Favourite quote from the episode:

“Callie – You think you can pray away the gay?

Mr. Torres – Could we just sit and talk?

Callie – Oh, no, you can’t pray away the gay.

Mr. Torres – Calliope Iphegenia Torres!

Callie - [shouting] YOU CAN’T PRAY AWAY THE GAY!!”

And finally we got to know where Arizona’s name came from…and most importantly: she loves Callie!

Arizona – “Most people think that I was named for the state, but it’s not true. I was named for a battleship. The USS Arizona. My grandfather was serving on the Arizona when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and he saved… nineteen men before he drowned. Pretty much everything my father did his whole life was about honoring that sacrifice. I was raised to be a good man in a storm. Also Callie’s and her father’s certainly powerful Jesus conversation:

Chemistry alert: Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi in “The Good Wife”

Do you watch the new legal tv show, The Good Wife?

No? I’ll give you at least one reason to watch it.

Yes? Then you’ve probably catched the chemistry between our lead character, Julianna Margulies (Alicia) and the investigator lady, Archie Panjabi (Kalinda). Yep, that’s right, my gaydar went off like crazy!

And after the last episode (S1Ep04 – Fixed), we might have a bisexual character, as in Archie. Why? Take a look at the video:

We don’t know anything for sure yet, but I looked her up on the net and there were several sites where her character is mentioned as bisexual:

“Archie Panjabi, who you’ll remember from films like Bend It Like Beckham and A Mighty Heart, is set to appear this fall in a new CBS drama called The Good Wife. (Thanks to my SM mutineer from Philly, Neha, for the tip!) The show, a legal drama, centers around a woman (Julianna Luisa Margulies) whose husband, a high-profile politician, (played by Sex and the City’s Chris Noth), goes to jail after his involvement in a sex scandal. Margulies plays the wronged wife who decides to return to her job as an attorney after years as a stay-at-home mom. Panjabi plays the role of Kalinda, an East Indian kick-ass bisexual investigator who works alongside Margulies’s character on cases. It’ll be interesting to see how this show plays out. You can see Panjabi on Tuesdays starting with the show’s premiere on September 22 at 10 ET/PT.”

Also, there is a Variety interview about her role, where she says:

“She has a number of secrets up her sleeve that explain why she’s so difficult to understand,” Panjabi says. “It’s quite exciting for me. Every time I read a new episode, there are new insights into her, but so far they’re never at odds with what I’ve done in my performance. You get a lot of insight into what makes her tick. There’s something quite mysterious about her.”

Hopefully we will get to know those secrets pretty soon now that the show was picked up for full season!

At last, speaking of Julianna Margulies, I’ve recently re-watched the movie “What’s cooking” where she plays the lesbian girlfriend of The Closer actress, Kyra Sedgwick.

Weekly update: Grey’s anatomy season 6 – Callie and Arizona

I’m seriously disappointed…we are 4 episodes beyond season 6 and basically nothing really happens to this lovely pair. I mean, yeah, they are “girlfriends”, just don’t act like one…maybe the end of this relationship is near? And I kinda beginning to think that Arizona needs a better girlfriend…as in not Callie…yeah…

Update: According to this interview on E! Online, I quote: “There is some “really amazing Callie and Arizona stuff” in the next couple episodes, a Grey’s mole hints. “They are steaming up in their own way. It’s much more of a relationship than it was [with Steamy].”

Being Erica and a lesbian in the past – Erica/Cassidy

The other day I discovered another great TV series called “Being Erica” (it’s Canadian by the way) which is about a 32 years old woman who made all the bad decisions in her past. One day though, she meets with a “therapist” (Dr. Tom) who helps her to make those wrong moves vanish by transporting Erica back to her past. Isn’t is wonderful?? You can make a do-over everytime!

Although it might scare you off a little but please, give it a try because it has something to say. And it’s fun. And hilarious! And also has an episode with a lesbian storyline where even 3 kisses happen…with boobs touching…and making out…between two woman! On television! Of course it’s just for one episode but when my gf and I watched this we had to blink quite a few times (Is that really happening? And they show this? Really?? How hot Cassidy is???)
